USA to Beijing (layover in Tokyo)

Hello - If I fly round trip to Beijing, but on the way there, I have a 2 hour layover in Tokyo, then stay in Beijing for 4 days, and then on then fly direct from Beijing to the US, would this qualify for the 144 hours free visa? LAX - HND - PEK - LAX...
