About:Chinese Embassy in U.S.A.

Cruise from Shanghai to Japan

We are taking a cruise from Shanghai to Japan and back to Shanghai. We are flying from USA to Shanghai and spending 2 days there, than 8 days cruise to Japan, back to Shanghai, spending 1 day in Shanghai and flying back to USA. Do we qualify for 48 hours and 24 hours transit ?

If your route is USA - Shanghai - Japan - Shanghai - USA and no other stops are in between, you actually qualify for 144hrs visa-free transit for both legs of the trip.
