About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Hi, I am flying US - Hong Kong - Shanghai - Hong Kong - Vietnam - US

Do we need a visa for the Shanghai leg, it will be 48 hours.

Yes, you need a visa because you are visiting mainland China and not in transit.
