Question about Shanghai visa free transit

I am a Canadian citizen. I plan to fly from New York to Shanghai on Sept 28th, stay there for 3 days, then fly Toronto Canada. Do I qualify for the visa free transit? Thank you for your advice! -Bello

Yes, your itinerary:

New York - Shanghai - Toronto

Is definitely eligible for 144 hour visa free transit in Shanghai area. You should just take care that your flight from New York to Shanghai does not have any additional landing of any kind within mainland China and in Canada and also your flight from Shanghai to Toronto is not allowed to have any additional landing of any kind within mainland China and in US!
