About:FAQ of Chinese Visa Application

How many days before and after the cruise can i stay using the 144_hour visa

US citizen flying in from the United States to Singapore aboarding a cruise ship in Singapore on April 16 with ports to Thailand, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Taipei, Japan, South Korea, and ending May 5 in Shanghai. How may days before and after the cruise can I stay using the 144-Hour visa? Will flying in on April 13 and leaving May 5 be too many days? Or flying in April 14 and leaving May 4 work using the 144-Hour Visa? Thank you.

The 144-hour visa free transit only allow you to transit in Guangdong Province, Shanghai-Jiangsu-Zhejiang region, Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, Liaoning Province or Chinese cities of Chengdu, Xiamen, Qingdao, Wuhan, and Kunming for no more than 144 hours (6 days) without holding a visa.
