About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Hi: I have Philippine passport flying from LA to Manila via Beijing. Layover in Beijing is 14 hrs. Do I need to apply for a visa or am I qualified for 24 hr TWOV? I want to go out for sightseeing at Beijing airport. Thanks!

You are definitely eligible for 24 hour visa free transit and you don't need any kind of visa. To be allowed to exit the airport, you will apply for 24 hour free entry permit upon your landing in Beijing. You have to know, that the issuing of this permit depends entirely on discretion of Chinese immigration authorities. In case if your layover is during the night hours, you are advised to book your accommodation in advance and to enclose this confirmation in hard copy along with your application.
