About:240-hour Visa-free Transit in Shanghai, Zhejiang, and Jiangsu

Amsterdam to Shanghai with a 2 hour stopover in Beijing on route to SH. then we go to Thailand

Are we eligible for this visa if we have a 2 hour layover in Beijing? We don't want to leave the airport in Beijing but as there is essentially 4 stops and then back home, are we still eligible?

No. You need a tourist (L) visa in advance of travel.

You are only permitted 24 hours transit without visa because of the two stops in China. Longer requires a visa.
