About:China Visa Application Requirements

I plan on applying for a Chinese L visa in Hanoi .

I have plane tickets booked in and out of China but they are not roundtrip . For now the plan is to apply for 144 visa free transit once I land in Beijing . Would I be able to obtain a tourist visa as is or would I forcibly need to have a round-trip ticket booked ? I also wanted to ask if it was absolutely necessary to have insurance in order to obtain the tourist visa? Thank you for your time !

if you apply for the tourist L visa to China, it doesn't have to be a round trip ticket. The tciket to a third country is okay too.The insurance is not not required. If your itinerary is Hanoi-Beijing-a third country except Vietnam and China and your layover in Beijing is no more than 144 hours, then you are also eligible for 144-hour visa free transit.
