No, unfortunately, you are not allowed to do that. You cannot have two concurrent visas in your passport. So, after your landing in Shenzhen you cannot apply for a Shenzhen VOA because you have already a valid Chinese tourist visa. So, the authorities will collect your tourist visa obtained in advance and you will be allowed to travel within the mainland China only. However, you have a solutions for your travel wishes. It follows:
- You can spare your single entry visa by using 144 hour visa free transit. In other words, you will declare in Europe, at the check-in that you will travel from Europe to Macau via Shenzhen using 144 hour visa free transit. Have in mind that this 144 hour TWOV is not a visa, so you are allowed to save your visa unused and to enjoy 144 hour visa free transit in Shenzhen. After that you will take a ferry from Shenzhen Shekou port through TurboJet ferry website to Macau. So, you will arrive, stay and exit mainland China and your visa will be still valid. From Macau, you can enter China again and use your single entry visa to reach Nanjing. I assume that you plan to use a plane from Shenzhen to Nanjing and that is perfectly fine. As you can see, your visit to Macau is doable, but you will have to follow the steps that I have mentioned.
The best detail is in the fact that you can travel visa free even on this route if you take a plane from Macau to Nanjing and then from Shanghai back to Europe because Nanjing is located within Shanghai transit area that also supports 144 hour visa free transit. Anyway, I assume that you have found much cheaper flights from Shenzhen to Nanjing, so you will use your visa. For your information, there are direct ferries from Macau to Shenzhen Airport to Fuyong terminal from where you can take your flight to Nanjing.
