About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

144-hr transit visa

HK – Shanghai (by high speed train) – Brussels (by flight) or HK – Guangzhou (by train) – London (via Baiyun Airport by flight), can apply a 144-hr transit visa upon arrival ??

No. You need a tourist (L) visa for both of those itineraries. Also there is no "transit visa upon arrival", the only possibility is transit without visa.

if i just stay in Shanghai or Guangzhou in 48 hours, is is possible transit without visa ?

You can enjoy 144 hour visa free transit for the following itinerary:

Hong Kong - Shanghai (by conventional through train) - Brussels

You cannot use a high speed train because it is not eligible for this visa free transit scheme. You have to look for a train departing from Hong Kong every other day from Hung Hom railway station and arriving at Shanghai railway station

Your second itinerary cannot be realized by taking a train to Guangzhou because the only way to be eligible for 144 hour visa free transit is to fly there by taking a nonstop flight from Hong Kong to Guangzhou.
