About:Chinese Embassy in Trinidad and Tobago

hello, i will be connecting in shanghai on my way to Bangkok. my layover is 3hrs both ways.

Do i need a visa for a connection? i have a trinidad and tobago passport but is a residence of canada. My departure and return is Toronto.
