About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Singapore to Shanghai with a layover in bangkok for the way in only

Hello,
I would like to go to shanghai for a week-end from Singapore and I am thinking of booking Singapore > Shanghai with a layover in Bangkok (around 3h) and Shanghai > Singapore with a direct flight for the return. All flights will be on the same reservation.

I would say I check the conditions for the free transit visa. Am I right?

Thank you!

Yes, you are definitely right. With the introduction of the third country, in your case Thailand, your itinerary is definitely eligible for 144 hour visa free transit, of course if your citizenship is among 53 eligible countries. In case that you are a Singaporean citizen, you can travel to China visa free and you don't have to bother with these details.

By the way, you should use correct terminology because this is 144 hour visa free transit and not "free transit visa". In this scheme there are no visas at all.
