About:Visa on Arrival

Vancouver -> Shenzhen -> Hongkong

Hi,
want fly from Vancouver direct to SZX and than overland to Hongkong. Which VOA are possible in this case? (German passport holder)

Hi,
first of all: You guys are amazing! Thanks for your quick answer and detailed informations, helped a lot.
The last years always flight to HK and used the 5-days-Shenzhen Visa for 22 US$ to visit SZ for a few days. Now I got a cheaper flight directly to SZ compare to HK, will use the transit visa (for free) and booked a ferry ticket from SZ Shekou Port to HK Island Harbor for 16 US$.
Means: Perfect!!!!

Juergen, you can easily use 144 hour visa free transit in Shenzhen. You have to fulfill the following two conditions:

- Before your journey begins, you have to book a ferry from Shenzhen Shekou port to Hong Kong Macau ferry terminal through CKS - Chu Kong Passenger Transport company website. You will receive an e-confirmation in your inbox that you will print out and bring it with you as a proof for your transit all the way to Hong Kong
- You have to plan your journey to allow at least 24 hours and 1 minute in Shenzhen in order to be eligible for 144 hour visa free transit.

Essentially, If I'm right and your flight from Vancouver lands in Shenzhen at 16:20, the earliest ferry you can take is the one departing from Shekou port tomorrow at 16:45.

This is by far the best option because traveling on 144 hour TWOV allows you to stay and travel throughout Guangdong province.

Juergen, you should just keep one detail in mind... You should use correct terminology to avoid any possible misunderstanding. It is not a transit visa, but 144 hour visa free transit. So, there is no visa at all :)

Also, you will find on the CKS - Chu Kong website a route between Shenzhen Shekou to Hong Kong–Macau Ferry Terminal. I can see that you have mentioned your destination as HK Island Harbor. OK, I assume that you were thinking about the mentioned Hong Kong–Macau Ferry Terminal because you will have to choose exactly this one terminal in the drop-down menu of the mentioned ferry company.
