About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Vancouver --> Hong Kong --> Zhuhai --> Guangzhou --> Vancouver (US & Canadian passports)-Need Visa?

Hi Our family of 15 people, holders of US and Canadian passports, plan to travel July 2026. Vancouver by plane --> Hong Kong(stay 8 days) --> Zhuhai by Bus (stay 2 days) --> Guangzhou by bus or train (stay 3 days) --> Vancouver by plane. please confirm if we're eligible for "240 hour visa free transit" and we do not need any kind of visa. thank you.

Yes, your entire itinerary is eligible for 240 hour visa free transit and you do not need any kind of visa. Here are just a couple of details that I consider to be important for your entire itinerary:
- When you say that you will travel from Hong Kong to Zhuhai by bus, I assume that you plan to take a bus over the HZMB bridge where you will cross into Zhuhai by using Zhuhai section. If this is the case, this is perfectly fine.
- Your flight from Guangzhou to Vancouver is not allowed to have a landing of any kind in Hong Kong. It has to be: Hong Kong - mainland China (Zhuhai and Guangzhou) - Canada
- You will have to buy your Guangzhou to Vancouver flight even before you depart from Hong Kong because you will be asked to present your exit ticket, Guangzhou to Vancouver in both Hong Kong and on HZM bridge - Zhuhai section. It is highly advisable to have your exit ticket printed out or at least a screenshot on your smartphone.
