Overstay of visa

My partner overstayed his visa by over 1 month. He is from Africa. He handed himself in and he is now in detention. How long will he be there? He has paid for the fine and his ticket back home. I’m very worried for him. Will this impact him applying for visas in other countries

Joe, generally, a foreinger will be detained in China for nor more than 15 days. As he has paid the fine, maybe he will released sooner. This may impact him applying for other countries' visas.
