About:240-hour Visa-free Transit in Shanghai, Zhejiang, and Jiangsu

AMSTERDAM - BEIJING SHANGHAI - AMSTERDAM

My daughter and I are flying into Beijing for 5 days
Amsterdam Beijing , then we want to take a train to shanghai for 6 days
are we elidigable for the 144 hours free entry on both sides

If not , please advice the best thing we can do

That is not permitted without a visa. You can add two more flights so that your itinerary is Amsterdam-Beijing-Hong Kong-Shanghai-Amsterdam. You can replace Hong Kong with any third country, eg South Korea, Japan, etc. Or else just get a visa.

Amsterdam-Beijing-south Korea - Shanghai-Amsterdam
Stoping 5 days Beijing
2 days South Korea
5 days Shanghai
Would that be ok for the 144 hours free visa

Yes. But to avoid confusion, you should always refer to “transit without visa” and not “free visa”. You are not getting a visa at any point.

That would qualify for 144 hours transit without visa twice, in Beijing and Shanghai. Of course, we are assuming your passports are from one of the 53 qualifying countries.
