About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Entering via ferry

Hi - I am planning to enter Tianjin via ferry from Incheon (South Korea), travel to Beijing, and fly from Beijing to the UK within 144 hours. The guide mentions filling in landing cards when flying to China but are the same landing cards available on the ferries?

Arriving by ferry is legally the same thing as arriving by plane, so your itinerary is definitely eligible for 144 hour visa free transit in Beijing. Of course, your flight from Beijing to UK should not have any additional landing within mainland China and South Korea.

You will receive your arrival/departure card at the ferry or upon arrival in Tianjin at the ferry terminal. Also, beside the mentioned card, you will also fill out the second one (blue color) for 144 hour TWOV purposes. You will present them all to the authorities at the ferry terminal, along with your onward ticket that you should have in hard copy (a printout).
