72 Hour Free Transit Visa Question

I am a US Citizen travelling from Cairns, Australia to Beijing, China. Landing in Beijing at 2am Friday September 5th. Then Flying to Seoul, South Korea on September 8th departing 5:10pm. Is that ok? Should I get a regular visa to be safe?

Sergio, could you tell as what will be your immediate stop before Beijing. Cairns cannot be because there are no direct flights from there to Beijing. This is very important detail, so please, just post it here.

Great! Your itinerary, as far as 144 hour visa free transit is concerned is:

Hong Kong - Beijing - Seoul

This itinerary is definitely eligible for 144 hour visa free transit.
