About:How to Travel to China without a Visa

Transiting through Chengdu from Syd to ktm

Hi, first time travelling through Air China via chendgu to Nepal from Syd. I heard we have to do luggage transfers by ourself. I clearly don’t know if this means clearing the immigration and checking back again for connecting flight. I have 3 hr transit time between two flights(same air China connecting to . My question is my wife holds Nepalese passport while me and my kids have Australian passport, does my wife need visa and if 3 hr time is enough to clear immigration and check back in?

Ramesh, your situation is very clear and none of you need a visa. You are all perfectly covered by 24 hour visa free transit regardless of your different citizenship. Your itinerary is also good and you will fly by CA430 and after that by CA437. Both of the mentioned flights are international, so in case that you have a single (through) ticket, I would say, but cannot really guarantee, that your luggage will be checked all the way to Kathmandu.

You will know your situation regarding the luggage at the very check-in in Sydney. If you receive two boarding passes and I think you will, you can travel really with peace of mind. In case that you really have to clear the immigration and make new check-in, just be calm. You have definitely enough time, nobody need a visa and you will just apply for 24 hour free entry permit. After the permit is granted, you will clear the immigration and perform new check-in. Trust me, you have enough time. Exactly for the mentioned operation :)

So, in any case, you will enjoy your travel and be really relaxed. Trust me, there are no any single detail that could make you to lose your flight or to be rejected or similar. You will be in Kathmandu exactly at 09:40 in the morning. OK, 5 minutes more or less :)
