You are just within the 144 hours time limit so that is fine. You don't need your train tickets booked in advance, but it's useful (although not mandatory) to book a hotel so that you have an address and phone number to write on the immigration form when you land in China. Please note, you are NOT applying for a visa. You just inform your carrier at check-in and/or boarding that you will be "in transit without visa" (and use those exact words) and show them your confirmed onward flight out of China.

You are right regarding your dates and time. You are also eligible for 144 hour visa free transit, but your itinerary, that we know very little from your post has to be structured like this:

A country (different than mainland China) - B (Guangdong province with Guangzhou, Shenzhen and many more cities) - C country (different that mainland China and different than A country).

Also, you should keep in mind that your flight from country A to Guangzhou cannot have any additional landing within mainland China and your flight from Guangdong province cannot have any additional landing within mainland China too.

You are allowed to make Hong Kong or Macau your C country and you can reach them by ferry (Hong Kong and Macau) and by train (Hong Kong). Of course, you have to book a ticket for a ferry or a train in advance, even before your departure from country A and use exactly that ticket for your exit from Guangdong province.

Within Guangdong province, including between Guangzhou and Shenzhen, you can travel as you wish, with any mean of transport, according to your own decision.

Hello Zupan, Thank you very much for your detailed asnwer.

I hope not to get into any issue with overrunnig visa, will this path be okay?
Flying in from Bali, Indonesia 02:10 - Baiyun (CAN) Guangzhou - China 29 Aug
Flying out to Vienna, Austria 23:20 - Baiyun (CAN) Guangzhou - China 04 Sep , T1,

Or should i rather book September 3 to be sure?

Do i need to have hotels and train tickets booked in advance?
What is the exact procedure?
I ask at the Indonesain checkin/boardng for this visa application, or do i receive and fill it out once i land in china?

Thank you very much again.
