About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

24h visa free/ 144h visa question

Hello,
I am a swedish citizen , I booked a round-trip flight Sweden- Beijing with KLM. But in between my flights into and from Beijing I will go to Bali. So my itinerary is as following:

23 Dec 11.30: Stockholm- Amsterdam
23 Dec 16.05: Amsterdam- Beijing (arriving in Beijing on the 24th Dec at 9.55)

I spend less than 24h in Beijing. I assume I can use the 24h transit visa even if I fly different airlines?

25 Dec 8.45 : Beijing - Singapore
25 Dec: Singapore- Bali

7 Jan: Bali - Singapore
7 Jan 16.55: Singapore- Beijing (I'll arrive in Beijing at 23.00)

I Spend 4 nights in Beijing. Can I use the 144h visa?

11 Jan 11.55: Beijing- Amsterdam
11 Jan 20.55: Amsterdam Stockholm

Please advise if I need a "real" China Visa per above itinerary or if i can use the visa options on arrival . I'm very grateful for your help.

Thank you in advance.

Best regards,

Andrea

Andrea, your entire itinerary is eligible for both 24 and 144 hour visa free transit and you do not need any kind of visa, guaranteed.

During your first stop in Beijing, you will be covered by 24 hour visa free transit. By the way, under both 24 and 144 hour visa free transit you have full right to use separate tickets and use unrelated airlines to accomplish your journeys. So, when you land in Beijing the first thing you will do is to approach 24/144 hour visa free transit where you will present your flight tickets and your hotel booking. This is all free of any charge. After a short check, you will be granted a permit and then you will head to the immigration, to collect your luggage and then into the city to enjoy your time on your own.

During your second landing in Beijing, you will do exactly the same, but this time your stay will be covered by 144 hour visa free transit because your layover will be longer than 24 hours. To repeat, you do not need a single visa. Just relax and enjoy your journey.

By the way, I encourage you to use correct terminology because there are no 24/144 hour visas, but 24/144 hour visa free transit schemes or in other words, there are no visas of any kind at all.
