About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit in Guangdong

HK to Guangzhou via Air and return to HK via train

Does the 144-hour Visa allow for entry via air from Hong Kong to Guangzhou Baiyun Airport and then leave via train to Hong Kong?

No, you are not allowed to do that. Your options is the following one:

- Take a flight from Hong Kong to Guangzhou
- Take a train to Shenzhen
- Take a ferry from Shenzhen Shekou port to Macau (you will book your ticket through TurboJet website and have an e-confirmation printed out in your hand even before your departure from Hong Kong)
- Take a ferry or a bus from Macau to Hong Kong

Only this option allows you to enjoy 144 hour visa free transit. Your original plan requires a visa.
