About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

144h VISA free transit Shanghai

Don’t know if my question got posted, so I’ll try again:

I’m flying from Amsterdam to Shanghai and stay there for 6 days. Then I’ll fly to Japan or Taiwan, stay a week, and fly back to Shanghai. After a one night stay in a hotel, I’ll fly back to Amsterdam. My filght from Amsterdam to Shanghai and back will probably include a flight change in Paris.

Will this do for a 144h VISA free transit twice?

Thanks!

Itineraries mentioned by Robin are perfectly eligible:

Amsterdam - Shanghai (6 days) - Taiwan or Japan

Taiwan or Japan - Shanghai (1 overnight) - (Paris) - Amsterdam

The above mentioned itineraries are definitely eligible for 144 hour visa free transit. OK, maybe the second one will be eligible for 24 hour visa free transit in case that the entire time spend in Shanghai (from scheduled arrival until scheduled departure) is shorter than 24 hours, but it does not change anything substantially.

By the way, the embassy is not a place where you will ask about the visa free transit. This is the responsibility of Chinese immigration. Embassy deals with visas and here there are no visas at all. Everything is visa free :)
