About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Seat Confirmation requirement

I will arrive in Shanghai from the US on July 19 in the evening and will fly to Singapore on July 25 in the morning. My flight to Singapore does not have a seat confirmation. Will it be necessary to have a confirmed seat for the flight to Singapore?

I will tell you in the same way as I have told to the Danish gentleman asking the same question. This is not a problem. In the terminology that is adopted by Chinese rule for visa free transit, a confirmed seat or a seat number means just that you have to travel on a confirmed and not on a standby ticket. So, if your tickets are confirmed and not on standby, you are perfectly eligible to use 144 hour visa free transit scheme. In other words, you don't need a confirmed seat.
