Ann, you should tell us two details in order to allow us to tell you whether your itinerary is eligible or not. Those essential details are:

- Which one is your last port call immediately before Shanghai?
- Which one is your immediate destination after your departure by plane from Shanghai?

So, your itinerary is South Korea - Shanghai - Australia

This itinerary is definitely eligible for 144 hours visa free transit in Shanghai area. You should just take care that your flight to Australia does not have any additional landing within mainland China.
