About:China Visa Application Procedure and Fee

Do I need Chinese transit visa?

I will be flying home to Australia from the Netherlands via Beijing then Shenzhen. Am I eligible for visa free transit? Flying Southern China Airlines:
departing Amsterdam 2 Aug arriving Beijing 3 Aug
departing Beijing 3 Aug arriving Shenzhen 3 Aug
departing Shenzhen 3 Aug arriving Melbourne 4 Aug.

Jane, if your stay in mainland China is less than 24 hours, you are eligible for 24 h visa free transit; otherwise, you need to apply for transit type.

Yes, that’s what we thought but we’ve been told that as we are flying in and out of Shenzhen the requirements are different
