About:240-hour Visa-free Transit in Shanghai, Zhejiang, and Jiangsu

Hello! Using the 144-hour visa-free transit in Jiangsu

is it possible to take the high-speed train from Nanjing to Xuzhou (and back), as a side trip? Of course, both cities are within Jiangsu province, however, the route actually passes through part of Anhui province. Thanks in advance for clarifying.

Yes, you are allowed to travel between two cities that are both located within Jiangsu province although a part of the route passes through Anhui province. You are definitely on the legal side as long as you don't use this circumstance to exit the train in Anhui province. Simply speaking, it is not expected from usual visitors to be geographical experts to know that a portion of rail route between two Jiangsu cities passes through some other province, so you can visit Xuzhou with absolute peace of mind.
