What is the best way of travelling from Vietnam (Hanoi or Hoi An) to Sanya?

Apart from the modern area is the rest of the island worth visiting?

There is no direct flights between the two cities and you need to transfer in cities such as Guangzhou, Shenzhen or Hong Kong. The island features sunshine and beaches. You can also visit some ancient temples in other areas apart from the modern areas.
