About:Hainan 30-Day Visa-Free Access

Hainan Visa free 30 days without using my mainland China visa

Hi. I already have a mainland China Visa. I want to use this for other places in China. Is it possible to obtain 30 days Visa free without forfeiting my original mainland Visa?

Thanks for answering my question. I intend to travel to the mainland directly after Hainan. Therefore is it possible to travel Visa free then use my mainland Visa, or I need to leave China and come back on my mainland Visa?

I assume that you have single entry Chinese visa, although UK citizens can obtain 2 years multiple-entry Chinese visa based on reciprocity between UK and China visa policies. Never mind, this is not important and I will tell you that you can use Hainan 30-day visa free access without using your actual Chinese visa. Of course, you should follow the steps to be allowed to use Hainan 30-day visa free access, but this is very easy. Basically, you should just make a rough itinerary what will you do during your stay in Hainan province, submit it to the agency that has right to handle foreigners in Hainan and you will purchase one of their offers, for example airport transfer or simple half day trip. After that, the agency will support your application at relevant authorities and inform you within 2 days or so, that you Hainan 30-day visa free access is granted. Upon your arrival in Hainan, you will just have to be very clear while explaining to the immigration that you are not using your visa, but that you travel on Hainan 30-day visa free access. Please, just be focused during the immigration, so that your actual visa remains unused.

Yes, you can. You will travel visa free to Hainan and stay there up to 30 days or even longer if you want, but if you want to stay more, you will just contact the same agency that you have contacted for visa free purposes and they will apply for your longer stay at Exit and Entry Administration of the local Public Security Bureau. Also, just have in mind that you have to inform that same agency that you want to leave Hainin directly to mainland China (by boat, plane...) and they will handle this detail with this same entity (Exit and Entry Administration of the local Public Security Bureau) where they will activate your visa, i.e. the first day of your visa will be the day of visa activation and that can be a day before your departure or exactly on the day when you depart Hainan.
