About:China Visa Renewal and Extension

Extending z working visa

Hi, I currently hold a working z type, and my residence permit expires in August. If I go ahead and sponsor my own visa, which type is it? Also, if I reside here, but earn money from part time jobs (cash in hand) is that legal?

Richard, if you sponsor yourself a visa, it can only be a tourist L type. With that, you are not allowed to work actually, but some part time jobs paid by cash may be fine. However, the tourist L type won't allow you to stay too long in China.
