Part one:
Perfectly understood :)
Assuming that your travel itinerary will be somthing like EU - Hong Kong - EU, I will make some suggestions in this regard:
- Having in mind that your focus is in reality Macau, you should know that you can reach it directly upon your arrival at Hong Kong Airport by very convenient ferry.
- In case that you first go to Hong Kong, you will take a train to your accommodation and after that a bus or ferry to Macau.
- Now, my suggestion is that you go directly from Macau to Shenzhen because it would be probably more convenient. You can do it easily by taking TurboJet ferry from Macau to Shekou port in Shenzhen. There is no real need to go to Hong Kong and after that to Shenzhen. In case that you decide to use the ferry from Macau to Shenzhen, just keep in mind the timetables and the fact about the working hours of Shekou office for Shenzhen visa issuing (9:00 - 13:00 & 14:30 - 17:00). Now listen... It is highly advisable to have your flight tickets and especially your hotel booking for Shenzhen in hard copy and ready to show it to Chinese authorities. Having that in your hands, your Shenzhen visas will be definitely granted. Keep in mind that the only currency acceptable is Chinese yuan preferably in cash. So, have enough amount of yuans in cash upon your arrival. Usual price for Shenzhen VOA is 168 yuans. By the way, Shekou port is convenient because it is close to Shenzhen metro.
- After you have spent your time in Shenzhen, there are many options for your return back in Hong Kong and in my opinion, the best option is to take a high speed train from Futian Shenzhen station to Hong Kong West Kowloon station. The ride takes just up to 20 minutes.
