About:240-hour Visa-free Transit in Beijing, Tianjin & Hebei

Entering Beijing by cruise ship and leaving by cruise ship

I am Australian citizen arriving in BJ on cruise ship for 3 days and leaving on cruise ship we sail to Seoul from BJ! Would I be eligible for 144 hour Transit Visa.

It depends on where you arrive from. If you are arriving from South Korea or another port in China then you will need a visa.

Thank you we are leaving from Hong Kong but we will be visiting JEJU ISLAND South Korea then Beijing !

So you route is South Korea-China-South Korea which is not a transit to a third country, and therefore you require visas for China.

I would just add the information that in case that your arrival is from Hong Kong, then you do not need visa, but you can enjoy 144 hours visa free transit because although in China, Hong Kong is considered as third country for 144 hours visa free scheme.

Again an example when people do not mention all their landings, port calls or similar that are essential for determining whether they are eligible or not. Especially the points immediately before and after their arrival/departure to/from China.
