About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Route Zurich - Guangdong - Macau eligible?

Hi, I probably need a train ticket in advance if I want to get the 144 hour visa right?

I usually often just take a Didi to go from Xiaolan to Macao but seems like I need to book a train ticket from Xiaolan to Macau via Zhuhai in advance that administration can be sure that I exit within 144 hours.

Actually, Macau is not connected by rail to mainland China, so you should just forget about this option. There are other options that will allow you to travel to Guangdong and then to Macau. For example, one of them is to take a ferry by TurboJet from Shenzhen port of Shekou (accessible by metro) from where you should take a ride to Macau. This option is convenient because you can obtain a ticket for the ride (or confirmation) online. Like this, you will have an evidence of your exit in the moment when you apply for 144 hours visa free transit. Also, you will need it also in Zurich because they will also want to see the evidence that you will comply with 144 hours visa free transit rules.

One more detail. Keep in mind that you are not looking after "144 hour visa", but visa free to avoid any possible misunderstandings.
