About:How to Travel to China without a Visa

24 Hour Free Transit Visa Question

We’re American and considering a cruise that begins in Japan and includes Shanghai as a port stop with other ports in Taiwan, and Hong Kong. Would we qualify for the 24 hour free transit?

If your travel route qualifies for country A-Shanghai-country B, you can use free transit policy in Shanghai, and no need to apply for visa.
