About:Shanghai Pudong Airport

Can I leave Pudong airport for a 16 hour stop over?

I have a 16 hour stop over and I want to leave the airport and explore, get some food, etc.
Do I need a visa? I have a New Zealand passport.

I've also heard that most places only take wechat payments? Will they accept cash?

Thanks!

You don't need a visa. But you need to apply for the Stay Permit at the airport. Complete the "embarkation/disembarkation card", together with your travel documents, boarding pass for the onward connecting flight and travel itinerary, go to the inspection counter of China Immigration Inspection to apply for 24h stay permit.

In addition, yes, you can use cash and Wechat. Both ways are ok. Don't worry.
