About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Flight from USA to Shanghai and return to USA. Can I use the 72 hour visa if stay is < 72 hours?

I'm flying from LAX to PVG, arriving 2/22 1845, staying at local hotel 2 nights and then departing PVG to LAX at 2/24 2025. Will I qualify for the 72 hour free transit?

Of course not. You are visiting China and not in transit, and you need a visa.
