About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

I am US Passport citizen living/working in South Korea. I want to go to Shanghai for 3 days

I am eligible for 72 hour free transit. I am just going to Shanghai for 2 days and returning to Korea. Will I be eligible for 72n hr free transit

Of course not, because that’s a visit to China and not a transit.
