About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Us passport Travelling Malaysia, tokyo, Shanghai, egypt.

Stay in Shanghai less than 72 hours. Will I be restricted to the airport, or can I travel to see the great wall?

It depends on your route since there are no direct flights from Shanghai to Egypt. Make sure stop is more than 24 hours and you will be allowed to leave the airport. Also it's now allowed to stay 144 hours when in transit to third country. You won't be able to visit the Great Wall since it's near Beijing and you cannot leave Shanghai, jiangahu, Zhehiang provinces.

Sorry, Beijing, not Shanghai. Will stay for just over 48 hrs. Flight to egypt has a 24 hr. layover in greece. In this case, Great wall is okay, yes?
