72 hr visa free question in Shanghai

I was wondering if someone can please help me? I was interested in booking this itinerary:

USA to CHINA (PVG) (will be in SH for total of 64 hours, then after 64 hrs, I will travel from SHA to JAPAN)
CHINA (SHA) to JAPAN
JAPAN to CHINA (PVG)
CHINA (PVG) to USA

As you can see, it’s a multi city route. The maximum hours I will be in SH (for the longest leg of any of the two trips to SH-china), is 64 hours. Can someone please help me determine if I am eligible for the 72 hour free visit please? Thanks so much in advance!
