About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Aus-Shanghai (transit 3 hours) -South korea - Shanghai (5 days stopover)- Aus

Hi,

Country of origin is Australia where I would be flying out from for my itinerary.
If i want to stop over at Shanghai at the end leg of the journey ie. south korea - Shanghai (5 days stopover) - Aus , would it qualify for 144 free transit?
i've read on the China embassy email that **Visitors returning to their country of origin would not be eligible for this policy**. So happens my country if origin is Australia....if that makes sense.

Thanks :)

“Country of origin” means where your aircraft took off immediately before arriving in China. You can’t return to that country.

Your route is ok for transit without visa in both directions.
