About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Am I valid for the 72hour or the 144hour visa?

Hi there, I have two stopovers in China before leaving for Korea. One in Guangzhou for 2 hours and then to Beijing for 21 hours. AKL -> Guangzhou -> Beijing -> Korea. I want to get out of the port in Beijing and tour the city. Am I valid for the 72hour or the 144hour twov?

Neither. If your total time on Mainland Chinese soil is under 24 hours, you will only be granted 24-hour transit. If it's a minute longer than 24 hours, you need a visa. This is because you have two stops which limits your transit time to 24-hour maximum.
