Overstay in China due to visa free rule

Hi, I entered China visa-free for 15 days but only realised about the 15 days period today.
I am currently booked out for a flight on the 11 which will put me on a 4 day overstay.
What should I do? I can’t change my flight to an earlier date. It is my first time in China.
I have no entry permit hence I can’t apply for an extension?

You need to save ¥2000 - ¥2500 to pay at the airport

Thanks Frank,

Really grateful for the assistance.

Would it be possible to go down to a police station on the 9th or 10th and pay the fine in advance so I won’t be held up in the airport and miss my flight?

Also, for the fine, I can only pay cash? Can I use a local bank card?

There's no way to pay the fine in advance while you are still legally in Mainland China. You should leave while still legally present in China and a new ticket will not only help you avoid future penalties (e.g., you MAY need a visa to visit China in the future if overstayed since it is a permanent part of your file) but also be a life lesson. A one-way ticket is also usually cheaper than the fine.
