About:Transfer in T3 of Beijing Capital Airport

Is 1hr int'l transit in Beijing Capital Airport feasible?

Hello. I am flying Frankfurt-PEK via Air China, then will transit to take PEK-Manila via Philippine Airlines. Both airlines operate out of Terminal 3. But I only have 1 hr 10 mins between the two flights. We were told we had to go through customs with our bags, as per Chinese regulation. My question is - do we have to take our checked-in luggage? As in - wait for them in the carousel, go through customs, then go back to check in counter, then go past security? That seems very long for one hour and I'm afraid I'll miss my onward flight to Manila. Or do we just simply have to show our passports and hand carried bags to customs? Appreciate some advice. Many thanks.

The time is a little bit tight.
For int'l to int'l transfer in T3, the procedures are the following:
Flight Arrival - Transfer Procedures - Border Inspection - Security Check - Custom Inspection - Waiting & Boarding
If the two airlines don't have luggage check through service, you need to collect the luggage and recheck them. In this case, 1 hour is not enough.
Thus you are advised to consult your airlines.

Hello, just to relay my experience in case helpful to anyone - 1 hr is really too tight. As our luggage was checked in all the way through, from Paris to Manila, we didn't need to retrieve them.
I wrote some media contacts in Philippine Airlines, alerting them to our short layover.
Because there were a lot of people arriving same time as us, the airline was probably already aware and had attendants calling out our flight number, and assisting us through security - without this, we would not have made it, due to very long queues.
Finally, we got to our gate just as boarding was underway.
The downside is - our three suitcases didn't make it to Manila! It arrived two days after we did. One hour is definitely too tight. Two and half to three hours is probably ideal, in an airport as big as Beijing Capital.
