About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Hong Kong to Shanghai to tokyo

I’m a US citizen traveling to Hong Kong. I would like to fly from Hong Kong to shanghai for 4 nights. Then fly to Tokyo for 4 nights. Then fly back to Hong Kong. Will I qualify for 144 hr twov in China?
