Entering Shanghai

I am flying into Shanghai with British Airways from the UK and transferring directly to a cruise ship, the following day a tour is booked from the ship to a destination just outside Shanghai, returning the same day,the ship then departs for South Korea. Time in China 33 hours.
Can I enter China under a free transit policy?

If the trip would be UK-Shanghai-South Korea, and the layover time is 33 hours, you are able to use the free transit in Shanghai. No visa will be required.
