About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

USA to Beijing & Beijing to Hong Kong & Hong Kong to USA (these are all one way tickets; still OK?)

Hi,
I have the following itinerary:

SFO to Beijing (Layover in Taiwan)
Beijing to Hong Kong (Direct Flight)
Hong Kong to SFO (Layover in Beijing)

These are all one way tickets as the company I purchase them with could not put them all on one purchase so they made 3 separate one way tickets for the trip. Am I still eligible for the free transit 72 hour rule?

If I understand correctly, you have two transits of mainland China: Taiwan-Beijing-Hong Kong and then Hong Kong-Beijing-USA. You didn't mention your nationality. But if you have a passport from one of the 53 qualifying countries you will qualify for 24 or 144 hours (depending on the length of your connection) transit without visa in Beijing both times.
