About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Hanoi to Bejing with layover in Guangzhou

Hello I am flying from Hanoi, Vietnam to Bejing with a layover in Guangzhou. Would I still be able to get the 72hr twov in Beijing? I am flying out to LAX after Beijing and I am a US citizen.

Two stops in China limits you to 24 hours transit without visa. 72/144 hours doesn't apply.
