US citizens traveling from Bangkok to Shanghai then back to US

I am a US passport holder. Do I need a visa to stop in Shanghai for 2 days on my way back from Bangkok to the US? I am flying directly from Shanghai to the US, but I will have visited Australia and Thailand before arriving in Shanghai. Thank you.
