About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Canada - Guangzhou (transfer via Beijing) - Hong Kong (by rail)

Hi, I'm Canadian landing in Guangzhou (with layover in Beijing), and then going to Hong Kong right away via High Speed Rail, do I qualify the 24 hour Free transit? My concern is that to get to the Railway station I have to leave the airport.

Please let me know, very concerned here :)

Thanks mate.

If your total layover time in mainland China is within 24 hours, you can use the 24h twov, and you are allowed to leave the airport.

Thanks! Also just to follow up on a big confusion, am I only able to leave the border via train/plane/ship? What if I take the high speed rail from GZ to Zhuhai (border Macau) and take a bus over to Macau, do I still qualify the 24 TWOV even though I'd be leaving the border via a bus (after going through security there of course). Thanks in advance!

To apply for the 24h twov, you need to have onward ticket with confirmed seat and date. If you can provide it, maybe you would be fine to leave by bus.
