About:Shanghai 15-day Visa-free Policy for Cruise Tour Groups

VISA FOR AUSTRALIAN PASSPORT HOLDERS

We have a 11 day tour of china prior to boarding Quantam of the seas on the cruise to Japan and return to Shanghai after an 5 day cruise. We have a visa for 1 entry. Do we need a double entry visa if we are flying out on the same day of disembarkation from Shanghai to Guangzhou to connect with flight to Brisbane Australia.
Or will we be eligible for the 144hr visa exemption.

You need a double entry visa and you are not eligible for the 144 hours visa exemption, because you make two stops in China: Shanghai and Guangzhou on your back trip. If you just fly from Shanghai directly back to Australia, you can qualify for the 144 hours free visa. Therefore, you either apply for a double entry visa or change your flight and only enter and exit China from Shanghai.
